Questions employers ask
How does hiring on TroveJob work?
Create your company profile, post a role and publish it — the listing goes live on the jobs page immediately with structured data, so Google for Jobs and other search engines can pick it up. Applications land in a pipeline you control: default stages run new, reviewing, shortlisted, interview, offer and hired, and you can rename or add stages per company. Each applicant is scored against the role's required skills, location and salary, so the best fits float to the top instead of arriving in the order they applied.
What does it cost to post a job?
Your first role is free, so you can run a real hiring round before paying anything. Beyond that, pricing is per active listing rather than per seat, which suits small teams that hire a few people a year rather than a recruiting department. The free employer tools — the job description generator, job post checker, salary benchmark and hiring cost calculator — need no account at all. See the pricing page for current plans; there are no placement fees and no charge per applicant.
How are candidates matched and ranked?
Every application gets a match score built from the candidate's skills against the role's required skills (weighted by proficiency and with related skills given partial credit), years and seniority of experience, location fit including remote preference, salary overlap, and how complete and recent the profile is. The score is explainable: open any applicant and you see which requirements they meet, which are close, and which are missing. You can also search the candidate directory for people who match a role before they apply.
Can my whole team review applicants together?
Yes. Invite teammates as owners, admins or recruiters; recruiters see the pipeline and candidates but not company settings. Reviewers fill in scorecards — you define the attributes and questions once as a template — and each application shows the team's ratings and an aggregate recommendation, so decisions are based on the same criteria for everyone. Anonymized screening hides names, emails and photos during the first review pass if you want to reduce bias, and an audit log records who moved or rejected each candidate.
Does TroveJob replace our applicant-tracking system?
For most small and mid-sized teams, yes: pipelines, custom stages, scorecards, team roles, bulk stage moves, messaging with candidates, a talent pool with tags and notes, and reporting on time-to-hire and funnel conversion are all included. Larger organizations with an existing ATS can still use TroveJob as a sourcing channel — post the role, collect applications here, and move shortlisted candidates into your system. There is no long-term contract, so you can start with one role and expand.
How do I write a job post that attracts the right people?
Lead with what the person will actually do and what success looks like in the first six months, not a list of twenty requirements. State the salary range — posts with pay ranges get materially more qualified applicants and it is required by law in a growing number of places. Separate must-have skills from nice-to-haves, name the location and remote policy plainly, and keep the company section short. The free job description generator drafts this structure for you, and the job post checker scores a draft for clarity, bias and missing information before you publish.
